1. The 6th BRICS summit underway in Fortaleza, Brazil.

    Its the annual diplomatic meeting of the 5 major emerging economies of the world namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
    Argentina is also making its debut as a guest nation here amidst possibility of inclusion as the sixth member.
    The main agenda of the meeting is the inauguration of the much-awaited BRICS Development Bank – alternative to the western-dominated financial institutions IMF and the World Bank.

2. Pakistan declares the ancestral home of veteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar as National Heritage. The house, located in Peshawar’s Qisa Khawani Bazaar area, will be converted into a museum.

8. HS Upendra Kamath is the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Limited (TMB). He, the former Chairman and MD of Vijaya Bank, succeeds KB Nagendra Murthy to this post.
